From the 31st of July 2024, applicants will be allowed to use their phones in the IPO Public reception office to set up a portal account and verify their details.
In tine with the IPO's obligation to protect applicant confidentiality, phone usage within Timberlay House and any other processing locations is permitted only for the specific purposes to support applications for international protection. Applicants may only use their mobile phone in the IPO to support registering and lodging an application for asylum through the customer portal. All mobile phone use is subject to the rules below:
- Photography, video or audio recording is strictly prohibited.
- Making or receiving phone calls while in the IPO public reception is strictly prohibited.
- Watching videos or listening to music on phones is strictly prohibited.
